Background & Family Life

Matt was born and raised in Colby, KS. He was a multi-sport All-District and All-State athlete, Student Council member, Honor Roll student and participated in numerous clubs and activities. Matt was a student-athlete attending Ft. Scott Community College and the University of Richmond on a football scholarship.

Matt is married to Kellie, and they have two active children, Jacob and Jordan. He coaches several of their athletic teams and enjoys attending their concerts and performances in other activities. They attend Second Baptist Church in Katy.

Business Philosophy

Matt feels the client doesn’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. He likes to say, “God gave you two eyes, two ears and one mouth…that’s a 5:1 ratio, act accordingly.” Matt enjoys getting to know his clients on a deeper level in order to help better serve them and their family’s interests and needs.

Business Experience

Matt had early post-college careers in sales and construction but moved into coaching and teaching for 17 years at numerous stops in Virginia, Colorado, and Texas. Matt coached numerous college and professional athletes during his career. Matt comes to RPOA from a 6-year career at New York Life where he was recognized as one of the firm’s “Executive Premier Centurion Council Agents” in his first year and then their “Presidents Centurion Council Agent” in year two before moving into a Partner role building a team in the Houston General Office.
